At Vault Private Client, we offer tailored estate administration services, from grant-only applications to full legal and administrative support. We understand that acting as a Personal Representative (PR) can feel overwhelming, particularly when you’re also grieving a loved one.
Our expert probate solicitors will work closely with you to understand your situation and provide a clear, transparent breakdown of the anticipated work and associated costs. Whether you want to remain hands-on or prefer us to manage the entire process, we’re here to provide the level of involvement that suits you best.
For those who only require assistance obtaining the Grant of Probate (or Letters of Administration), we typically offer a fixed fee. More complex estates that require full HMRC reporting, foreign asset handling, or relief claims are quoted based on the scope of work and advice required.

Our Estate Administration Services.
We provide two main levels of support depending on your requirements:
Grant-Only Service
For non-taxable estates with limited HMRC reporting, our fee is typically between £3,000–£4,000 plus VAT and disbursements.
For taxable estates requiring an IHT400, fees start from £5,000 plus VAT and vary based on complexity (e.g. reliefs, trusts, or foreign assets).
This service includes:
- Identifying the correct PRs and grant type
- Reviewing the Will or applying intestacy rules
- Gathering required information and advising on IHT
- Preparing and submitting the probate application
- Liaising with HMRC and the Probate Registry
Not included (but available separately if needed):
- Collecting and closing estate accounts
- Property transfers or sales
- Paying liabilities or funeral costs
- Preparing full estate accounts
- Distributing the estate to beneficiaries
Full Estate Administration
For clients who wish to delegate the full process, we can manage everything on your behalf. This includes:
- Obtaining the grant
- Collecting assets
- Settling liabilities
- Preparing estate accounts
- Distributing the estate
This service is charged according to our hourly rates. You’ll receive a personalised quote following a no-obligation consultation.
Typical disbursements include:
- Probate application fee: £300.00 (no VAT)
- Official copies of the grant: £1.50 each
- Bankruptcy search: £2.00 + VAT per beneficiary
- Trustee Act notices: £90–£250 + VAT
Some services are outside the scope of our standard estate administration, including:
- Contentious probate or Inheritance Act claims (handled by our litigation team)
- Deeds of Variation or trust registrations
- Sale or transfer of property (quoted separately)
